At McWethy's Tavern, the honey you enjoy is proudly produced under The Farm at Mistwood Golf Club, our agricultural arm that reflects the same commitment to quality and sustainability found throughout all of JBM Hospitality's properties. Our on-site apiary is one of the hidden gems of the property, home to 10 thriving honey bee hives that consistently produce abundant, high-quality harvests under the care of our “Bee Man,” Pete.
Each season, the bees gather nectar from local wildflowers and fall plants like Goldenrod and Ragweed, creating a naturally sweet honey rich with local pollens.

Pete harvests our honey the old-fashioned way: smoking the hives gently to calm the bees, pulling frames overflowing with capped honeycomb, trimming the wax by hand, and extracting the honey through a traditional centrifuge. From there, the honey goes straight into glass jars and directly onto our shelves.
